About this role

We're seeking a Lead Financial Accountant to own end-to-end financial reporting and close processes for our Italian entities. You'll serve as the technical SME within our R2R team, driving IFRS compliance, process automation, and delivering financial insights that support strategic decision-making. This is a fantastic opportunity to lead transformational finance initiatives while mentoring junior team members in a fast-paced, international environment.

Salary range: 40,720 euro - 55,990 euro

Location: Milan, Italy – Hybrid (3 day in the office 2 days WFH)
Reporting to: Accounting & Insights Manager – R2R

These are some of the key components to the position:

• Lead monthly, quarterly and annual financial close processes, ensuring full IFRS and local GAAP compliance for Italian entities
• Act as technical accounting expert, managing complex journal entries, reconciliations, intercompany accounting and statutory reporting
• Drive R2R process improvement and automation initiatives using tools like SQL, Python or Power BI to enhance efficiency
• Perform in-depth variance analysis across payroll, leasing, accruals and fixed assets, delivering actionable insights to senior leadership
• Mentor R2R team members, sharing technical expertise and promoting best practice across the function
• Partner with Finance, Payroll, Tax and Audit teams to ensure robust controls and seamless cross-functional collaboration
• Own preparation and review of statutory financial statements for Italian entities, coordinating with external consultants as needed

What will you bring to the team?

• Fully qualified accountant (ACCA, CPA, CIMA or equivalent) or actively pursuing recognized qualification, with deep IFRS expertise
• Proven track record leading month-end and year-end close, complex accounting and statutory reporting in multinational environments
• Strong proficiency with major ERP systems (SAP, Workday, Oracle) and advanced Excel, with experience using Power BI, SQL or Python
• Demonstrated ability driving automation, standardization and continuous improvement within finance operations
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven mindset and ability to translate insights for stakeholders
• Strong collaboration and communication skills, building effective partnerships across Finance, Payroll, Tax and non-finance teams
• Ability to manage competing priorities, adapt to changing deadlines and thrive in dynamic, high-growth environments
