About DFDS Trieste Terminal
The DFDS Trieste Terminal is a joint venture between DFDS A/S and Samer Seaports & Terminals, serving as a strategic hub for DFDS operations in the Mediterranean. It’s a cornerstone of our commitment to delivering exceptional service and advancing sustainability, safety, and digital transformation in the logistics industry.

Your role
As Managing Director of DFDS Trieste Terminal, you’ll be at the helm of a dynamic operation.
Reporting to the VP of Global Terminals, you’ll oversee the terminal’s full P&L, working closely with our business units and functional teams to drive success.
Your leadership will guide day-to-day operations, while your strategic vision shapes the future of the terminal. With a strong focus on fostering innovation, safety, and a positive workplace culture, you’ll inspire teams to excel and contribute to DFDS’s mission of connecting people and goods.
You’ll also collaborate with the newly formed Global Terminals leadership team to create future-ready terminals that maximize value for customers and stakeholders across our portfolio.

What you’ll do

• Lead and manage all terminal activities with full P&L responsibility.
• Foster a culture of engagement, creativity, and openness to change.
• Build and maintain strategic relationships with customers, partners, stakeholders, and executive management.
• Drive innovation in green transformation, standardization, and digitalization.
• Attract, develop, and retain top talent to strengthen our team.
• Navigate between strategic vision, daily execution, and contingency planning with agility.
• Contribute to making DFDS a great place to work through open communication and collaboration.

About You
We’re looking for an experienced leader with a passion for innovation and operational excellence. Key qualifications include:

• Proven business acumen and operational experience, ideally in ro-ro and rail logistics.
• A minimum of 5 years’ experience managing P&L responsibilities.
• Strong negotiation skills and conflict resolution abilities.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills across political, strategic, and operational levels.
• A track record of driving change and delivering results in dynamic environments.
• An international mindset with experience working collaboratively across diverse teams.
• Fluency in Italian is an advantage.
