We make what matters work.\n\nWe are looking for a Senior Materials Engineer to join our Mobility Group, based at our headquarters in Turin.\n\nIn this role, you will play a key part in materials analysis and problem solving, supporting root cause investigations through advanced laboratory testing and failure analysis. You will work on internal combustion engine valvetrain components as well as new product portfolio developments, evaluating both current and future materials and technologies.\n\nYou will also contribute to the continuous improvement of laboratory workflows and procedures, collaborating closely with Engineering, Quality, EHS, and Manufacturing teams to ensure high standards of safety, efficiency, and technical excellence.\n\n## What you\u2019ll do:\n\n * Plan and execute all failure analysis activities and metallurgical verifications on engine components in a teamwork environment.\n * Evaluate material properties of existing and new/improved products in line with internal and customer technical specifications, in close collaboration with Product Engineers\n\n * Perform and support laboratory testing activities on current and advanced valvetrain products, including metrological, metallurgical, chemical, and material evaluations\n\n * Select, set up, and verify test methods, measurement systems, and equipment for design verification, performance testing, and root cause analysis\n * Collect, analyze, and organize test data, preparing clear technical reports and executive summaries for internal stakeholders and, when required, customers or suppliers\n\n * Contribute to team problem\u2011solving and continuous improvement, identifying enhancements to designs, test methods, troubleshooting approaches, and laboratory procedures\n\n\n\n\n## Qualifications:\n\n * Master\u2019s degree in Engineering (Mechanical Engineering or Materials Engineering preferred)\n * Minimum of 2 years of relevant professional experience in materials engineering or a related technical field;\n\n\n\n\n## Skills:\n\n * Fluent Italian and English, both written and verbal\n * Solid knowledge of failure analysis, materials mechanical testing, metallographic analysis, and material characterization techniques\n * Experience with mechanical component design and analysis, SEM/EDX operation, and NDT techniques\n * Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and priorities\n * Strong teamwork and collaboration skills, with the ability to achieve results both independently and through others\n * Analytical and problem\u2011solving mindset, with a results\u2011driven approach\n * Proactive, self\u2011motivated, and eager to learn, with a clear willingness to grow professionally and take on increasing responsibility\n\n\n\n## What we offer:\n\n * Competitive compensation and benefits package\n * Support of an experienced mentor\n * Challenging projects in dynamic collaborative team in an international environment\n * We care about Inclusion and diversity, and we care about you\u2013 in Eaton we have several initiatives celebrating diversity and making our daily life more inclusive\n * We make your aspirations matter \u2013 Eaton encourages internal promotion, whenever possible\n * We make your wellbeing matter \u2013 we offer Health Insurance Plan (MetaSalute) and a Company Welfare plan for all Eaton Employees.\n * We make your growth matter \u2013 we invest in our employee for the long term with annual performance\u0026Development reviews.\n * We make your contributions matter - reliability, safety, efficiency, and sustainability are at the core of our dedication to improving people\u2019s lives and the environment through power management technologies.\n\n\n\nEaton announced, on January 26, 2026, the intent to separate its Mobility Group (including both the Vehicle and eMobility segments) into an independent, publicly traded company.
