Mechanical Design Engineer

We are now looking for a  Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team in Bologna, Italy.

Job Overview:  As a Mechanical Design Engineer , you will contribute to deliver required designs and industrialization of the products using the 3D MCAD. You will be the mechanical designer for UPS and ancillaries, supporting the introduction of Creo software, 3D Model Base Design introduction, and definition of the best practices. You will need to provide the design of the mechanical structure of the cabinet and, in conjunction with the electrical team, design the electrical connections using power cables and/or copper busbars and to be the owner of the PLM management related to bills of materials, documentation and change orders.

Your Core Responsibilities:

• Coordinate the activities and provide the necessary documentation to start the Change Order processes.
• Cooperate with the other engineering functions during the definition of the product specification Review and assessment of the test results.
• Produce technical documentation in line with the process requirements such as drawings, component specification.
• Support the manufacturing team for the resolution of the problems in during the manufacturing process.
• Provide good teamwork behavior with the Electrical team as well as other teams to establish productive cross-functional conditions.

In order to be successful in this role you will need to have:

• 1-5 years of experience
• Education background: Technical education, preferably degree or technical diploma in Mechanical Engineering or similar. Experience in equivalent areas (, UPS, Power converter or low voltage electrical distribution) will be a plus.
• Good knowledge as Mechanical designer using 3D/2D/ Model Base Design CAD (SW knowledge: PTC Creo 6 or newer strongly preferred, additional knowledge of Solid Edge is a plus).
• Good knowledge of MS Office tools.
• Capability of writing professional technical documentation in English.
• English language knowledge.
• Good team working attitude and communication.
• Ability to convert objectives in actions and results.
• Customer oriented and availability to travel.
• Excellent planning, organizational, documentation, and communication skills are required.
