Quantative Analyst-Energy Trading

Our client is an Italian company focused on energy management and offers balancing, optimization and hedging services to renewable energy producers and suppliers. They are moving energy across 27 countries in Europe and marketing the electricity produced by >250 power plants.

The Quantitative Analyst - Energy Trading is a key team member of the Trading Desk who will work closely to the traders supporting decision processing, data management and developing sophisticated models to predict market trends. They are looking for a profile with strong computer skills, attention to detail, positive professional attitude and ability to work in a team environment.

Responsibilities:

• Monitoring and analysis of prices trends and price drivers of the energy commodities on the European markets
• Developing models to predict energy and gas prices and collecting all energy drivers
• Supporting the decision process
• Producing reports and analysis for the team
• Support the development of algotrading models

Qualifications:
Degree in an analytically-based discipline i.e. finance, maths, economics, statistics, engineering or equivalent experience.
Previous business experience in energy markets as analyst or quant is not mandatory, but it is preferred.

• Advanced working knowledge of coding (i.e. Python, R-studio, Matlab, SQLs or similar)
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel VBA coding
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Strong analytical and detail-oriented attitude; a high degree of accuracy is required
• Ability to manage time effectively, set priorities and meet deadlines
• Ability to learn and adapt to change
• Desire to work successfully in a dynamic environment
• Fluent in English
