Senior Accountant

Here at The Exploration Company, we are developing, producing, and operating Nyx, a modular and reusable space orbital vehicle that can eventually be refuelled in orbit and that can carry cargo - and potentially humans in the longer run.

As a Senior Accountant, you will play a key role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with local tax regulations, and supporting strategic financial decisions. You'll work closely with internal stakeholders and external auditors, and help implement robust systems and controls suitable for a scaling organization.

Key Responsibilities

· Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing process in accordance with Italian GAAP and IFRS (as applicable)

· Assist with preparation and analysis of the financial statements and management reports

· Ensure compliance with all local tax regulations

· Post journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger accuracy

· Collaborate with external auditors and consultants during statutory audits and tax filings

· Improve and document accounting processes, including internal controls

· Assist with ERP migration or upgrades and drive automation of finance workflows

Requirements

· Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

· At least 5 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in a high-growth or international environment

· Solid understanding of Italian statutory requirements and tax compliance

· Experience with ERP systems

· Strong Excel skills

· Fluent in Italian and professional proficiency in English

· Detail-oriented, hands-on, and capable of operating in a fast-paced, evolving setting

Nice to Have

· Experience in a scale-up or PE/VC-backed company

· Knowledge of transfer pricing, intercompany reconciliations, or cross-border accounting

· Familiarity with international reporting (IFRS or US GAAP)
