We are looking for with immediate effect a database engineer, computer scientist, business information scientist, mathematician, software engineer, data scientist or comparable as:

Senior Database Specialist (all genders)*

As a Senior Database Specialist (all genders)*, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the performance, reliability and security of our database infrastructure, which forms the backbone of our IT landscape. As the point of contact for technical and business company data, you will have an overview of our data landscape and the underlying business contexts.

Your mission:

• Administration: You are responsible for the installation, configuration and maintenance of our database servers, as well as for monitoring and optimizing system performance to ensure high availability and efficiency
• Database design: You provide design, optimization and further development of database structures for maximum performance and scalability
• Reporting: You will be responsible for creating reports to support data-driven decisions
• Operations: You will provide technical support and advice to our development teams for the optimal use of the databases and also act as a point of contact for all teams for technical questions about our data landscape

Your strengths:

• You are willing to learn and are interested in both new and mature technologies
• Your ability to identify and analyze problems enables you to find effective solutions
• You have a sound knowledge of SQL and DDL
• you are already experienced in the administration of RDBMS
• you can handle Linux confidently at terminal level
• you already have basic knowledge of bash programming and containerization (Docker)
• we would be delighted if you also have knowledge of data protection law
• is welcome if you already have experience
  • in database design, reporting and database visualization
  • with MySQL / MariaDb, NoSQL or hybrid databases
  • with cluster-based / cloud-capable databases
  • with Kubernetes
  • with TCP/IP
• thanks to your very good knowledge of German and English, both written and spoken, internal and external communication is easy for you

Tech stack: MySQL, Linux, Docker, bash, JSON, Python, Excel, Git, Jira, Confluence, Grafana, Elastic
