Senior Java Developer | Hybrid Italy | Freelancer Contract

Role Overview

We are looking for a highly experienced Senior Java Developer to join our team on a freelance contract. The ideal candidate should have extensive expertise in Java/J2EE, database management, front-end technologies, and enterprise frameworks. This role requires a hybrid work model (2 days on-site, 3 days remote) and is open to EU candidates or non-EU candidates already based in Italy with a valid work permit.

• Location: Italy (Hybrid 2 days on-site, 3 days remote)
• Contract Type: Freelancer (B2B only)
• Eligibility: EU candidates or non-EU candidates already based in Italy with a valid work permit
• Experience Level: Minimum 15+ years in IT (with a university degree) or 22+ years (without a degree, but with relevant certifications)

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade Java applications using Java/J2EE.
• Work with databases (Oracle, MySQL) and optimize SQL queries.
• Develop and enhance front-end components using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
• Implement and manage version control and build tools (GIT, Maven, SVN).
• Utilize Spring Framework, Hibernate/EclipseLink for backend development.
• Work with Apache Solr + Lucene for search indexing and retrieval.
• Maintain JSP-based applications and ensure performance optimization.
