Job Summary
Drive growth in Processing Services within the Ice Cream business by identifying and converting new opportunities, while delivering high-quality technical support.
In this role, you will independently install and commission Tetra Pak equipment, execute preventive and corrective maintenance, and provide impactful customer training. You will troubleshoot complex issues with a structured approach, continuously optimize equipment performance, and build strong customer relationships, while also acting as a coach to support the development of fellow engineers.
This is a permanent role based in Monza, Italy and requires requires up to 80-90% travel of the time in Italy.
What you will do
- Identify and convert opportunities into sales to expand the Processing Services Ice Cream business.
- Assess current installed based and convey opportunities to customers in collaboration with Market Operations.
- Execute installation, commissioning and performance validation for Capital.
- Equipment installations at customer sites according to the ItP process.
- Act as lead engineer for L1 & L2 Capital Equipment installations at customer sites according to the ItP process.
- Lead, plan, coordinate and execute preventive maintenance activities, ensuring compliance with the agreed scope of delivery.
- Reinstate equipment/lines into production according to agreed service targets.
- Execute analysis, restore basic conditions or troubleshoot to resolve mechanical, electro-mechanical and automation issues (including HW, SW, Network), with Remote Support if needed.
- Conduct systematic root cause analysis to enable permanent resolution.
- Report and manage all discovered Technical Issues according to the QTIM process and escalate when needed.
- Perform production support/breakdown activities on customer sites.
- Execute installation of complex (Automation) upgrade kits according to procedures and reinstate lines into production according to agreed service targets.
- Conduct operator & maintenance-related customer training (on-site or remote).
- Identify business opportunities and share with S(K)AM. Suggest solutions, support sales activities, and maintain knowledge of services and solutions.
- Follow up operationally on contracts, taking decisions with SAR & SKAM to proactively manage outcomes (profitability and performance).
- Promote a safe working culture and comply with Tetra Pak and customer safety regulations.
- Ensure all work meets product quality and food safety standards; address any issues.
- Lead daily customer contact and manage the operational relationship.
- Comply with all reporting requirements accurately and on time, ensuring proper handover.
- Act as an ambassador for Tetra Pak, maintaining strong relationships and protecting company reputation.
We believe you have
Proven experience in installation, commissioning, and maintenance of industrial equipment (preferably within food processing or packaging).
Strong technical skills in mechanical, electrical, and automation troubleshooting (HW, SW, networks).
Experience working directly with customers, with strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Capability to identify commercial opportunities and support sales activities in collaboration with internal teams.
Commitment to safety, quality, and food standards, with a structured and accountable way of working
- Experience in business development is considered as an advantage.
- Professional level of English, both oral and written.
