JOB TITLE: Software Engineer

BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE OF THE ASSIGNMENT:

The United Nation’s World Food Programme is the world’s largest humanitarian organization saving lives in emergencies and using food assistance to build a pathway to peace, stability and prosperity, for people recovering from conflict, disasters and the impact of climate change. 
WFP’s Chief Financial Officer Division drives effective planning, allocation and utilization of resources, and oversees the corporate financial cycle, from performance and financial planning, through budgeting, recording of accounting transactions and payments, to financial and performance reporting. 
As part of the CFO Division, the CFOMD team analyze and transform complex financial and performance data to derive strategic insights, drive financial risk management and strengthen high-level decision-making. Leveraging advanced digital tools and innovative methodologies, the team aim to support strategic business outcomes and to enhance financial stewardship. 

ACCOUNTABILITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.    Development and Administration of the Resources to Results tool:
a.    Ensure system configuration and user settings.
b.    Coordinate platform enhancement based on CFOB priorities including but not limited to the Management Plan Exercise.
c.    Optimize and enable HQ divisions, Regional and Country Offices MP planning data collection.
d.    Coordinate system maintenance tasks with TEC if necessary.
2.    Consolidate and analyze Management Plan submissions.
3.    Review corporate budget users’ guidelines and develop others as necessary.
4.    Provide analysis and prepare reports to support Global Budget Committee meetings and prepare meeting documentations as necessary.
5.    Provide advice and develop process improvement workflows as needed.
6.    Perform other duties are required.

DELIVERABLES AT THE END OF THE CONTRACT:

•    System set up and up to date before the MP submission starts in line with MP requirements and guideline documents in place.
•    Keep the platform in good technical efficiency.
•    Enhanced process and system integration with other corporate systems such as DOTS and WINGS.
•    Developing new tools to assess business scenarios and analyze trends (scorecards, dashboards, and ad hoc analytics that update in real-time).
•    Contribute to sessions on the review of budget systems/tools/processes (including R to R approach), prepare Resources to Results demo/workshops

•    Support the APP process by providing data (Budget submissions, KPI reports, etc) and facilitate the evolution into a fully integrated planning, budgeting and performance solution
•    Provide data support/analysis for ACABQ, Finance Committee, MP approval (November EB session)

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Education: University degree in computer science engineering

Experience: At least 3-5 years post graduate, job-related experience.

Knowledge & Skills: Strong analytical and data management skill 
Experience in using MS Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) Knowledge of Tagetik, Oracle and SAP 
Ability to work within challenging timelines 

Languages: English
