Sous Chef

Belmond is seeking a passionate and dedicated Sous Chef to join our team and contribute to our legacy of excellence in hospitality. As the Sous Chef, you will support the Executive Sous Chef in the daily operations of the kitchen while ensuring the highest standards of food quality, presentation, and sanitation. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic culinary environment that values creativity and teamwork.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the Executive Sous Chef in the creation and execution of innovative menus.
• Supervise daily kitchen operations, including food preparation and staff management.
• Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain cleanliness in the kitchen.
• Train and mentor kitchen staff, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
• Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies as needed.
• Participate in special events and functions, ensuring the delivery of exceptional culinary experiences.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role in a fine dining environment.
• Strong culinary skills and understanding of various cooking techniques.
• Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.
• Passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences through food.
• Fluency in English; knowledge of additional languages is a plus.
