We are currently looking for a Technical Sales & Business Development Manager to join us in Italy, Wavin Italia. If you want to make a difference and work for a purpose-led company, please read on.



Main purpose
The role as a Senior Advisor is to combine engineering know-how with business sense to help our customers and instruct the Project Support office or UCR Design & Engineering.



Major focus on shaping the client vision in the market, create opportunities to sell the integrated UCR solutions, and support customers through the design phase of their projects. Build and share market intelligence understanding of customers, markets, competitors, products, and applications taking a strategic role in the development of our solution portfolio & products.


 


Main responsibilities



  • Position Wavin as a relevant partner for decision makers in the stormwater management environment

  • Act as a trusted advisor on climate resilience and stormwater management solutions

  • Drive the execution of the UCR go‑to‑market strategy in the country

  • Engage on project level by understanding customer needs, identifying opportunities, and coordinating internal expert support when required

  • Proactively seek, identify, and realize new business opportunities (strong hunter focus)

  • Use CRM as a core tool to manage the UCR business: keep accounts updated, log regular face‑to‑face visits, and share account development progress

  • Build and maintain a strong project pipeline within the UCR segment

  • Coordinate technical questions with internal specialists; ensure smooth issue resolution and customer follow‑up

  • Build and share market intelligence, customer needs, market trends, competitors, and application insights

  • Translate legislative requirements and market drivers into clear commercial opportunities and customer value propositions (and vice versa)

  • Positively engage in all Health & Safety activities and comply with guidelines


 


 


Our requirements



  • 5+ years of relevant commercial experience in business development, external sales, or solution selling — industry background would be a plus

  • Proven track record as a hunter: generating new business, building networks, and winning new accounts

  • Ability to understand broader project scopes and engage clients at a consultative level (commercial, not technical deep-dive)

  • Strong commercial mindset with the ability to translate customer pains into demand and clear value propositions

  • Proficiency with CRM systems, project or opportunity management tools, and MS PowerPoint/Excel

  • Knowledge of the local market (customers, decision makers, ecosystem) is an advantage

  • Team player with strong communication skills and an entrepreneurial, proactive approach

  • Comfortable with field sales, visiting contractors, specifiers, and project stakeholders
