Job Description Summary

Viega LLC is seeking a motivated Operational Technology (OT) & Information Technology (IT) Intern to join the Regional IT Infrastructure Support team. This professional internship provides hands-on experience supporting both manufacturing-focused OT systems and enterprise IT infrastructure. The intern will gain exposure to real-world environments, collaborate with experienced IT professionals, and contribute to operational reliability, cybersecurity, and infrastructure improvement initiatives.

What You'll Do:

Assist in supporting the securing of the Operational Technology (OT) systems used in our manufacturing environment in McPherson, KS. This position will specifically be involved in an ongoing project – Management of Outdated Systems (MoOS).

Support IT infrastructure including endpoints, servers, networking, and user access.

Help monitor system performance, availability, and security for IT and OT environments.

Assist with documentation of processes, procedures, and system configurations.

Support cybersecurity best practices for both IT and OT systems.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Manufacturing, Engineering, and Corporate IT.

Perform additional duties as assigned.

What We're Looking For:

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Basic understanding of IT and OT concepts.

Familiarity with Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Interest in networking, cybersecurity, and industrial systems.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Strong communication, organization, and time management skills.

Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail.

Availability to work up to 40 hours per week during standard business hours.

Education, Certification/License & Work Experience

Currently enrolled in an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree program in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Cybersecurity, or a related field.

Coursework or interest in industrial systems or infrastructure support is preferred.

Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.

Total Rewards Package:

Compensation

Base: $21.00 - $25.00 hourly, based on specific compensable factors including, but not limited to education, work experience, and geographic market.
