The IT Technical Support Specialist Intern is responsible for maintaining computing environments that rely heavily on the Windows operating systems and Microsoft 365. This role focuses on ensuring secure, reliable, and efficient operation of the following primary business infrastructure:

• Windows Server Active Directory.
• Business Workstations Running Windows 10/11.
• Microsoft Intune, Entra and other products in GCC High.
• Comprehensive Backup Systems. 
• Cisco Switches and Firewalls.

The IT Technical Support Specialist Intern may be asked to support operations on the following business infrastructure:

• Linux Servers and High-Performance Workstations.
• Macintosh Business Workstations.
• Cameras on an Internal Network.
• Mobile Device Management.

As an IT Technical Support Specialist Intern, you will play a pivotal role in managing and enhancing a dynamic and diverse computing ecosystem. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong problem-solving abilities, familiarity with widely adopted community-supported tools, experience in Linux, Windows and Microsoft 365 administration, and the ability to operate effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Basic Requirements

• U.S. citizenship required. Applicants must be U.S. citizens to meet eligibility requirements for this position.

Minimum Qualifications

Candidates who meet the Basic Requirements and have the following minimum qualifications will be considered.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Maintain Windows-based computer systems (e.g., Windows 10/11, Server 2019/2025).
• Maintain Microsoft 365 environment.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose and resolve hardware, software, networking, connection, and peripheral issues.
• Coordinate and execute imaging, configuration, and deployment for servers, laptops, and workstations.
• Setup new user accounts.
• Help maintain accurate records of IT environmental changes.
• Maintain adherence to IT policies, and IT procedures surrounding NIST 800-171, CMMC 2.0 and other relevant regulatory requirements through comprehensive auditing and reporting mechanisms.

Skills & Abilities:

• Workstation troubleshooting across heterogeneous environments.
• Proven ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects concurrently.
• Effectively supports and communicates with non-technical users to resolve technical issues in a clear and approachable manner.

Education & Experience:

• Working towards a degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Computer Engineering, or a related field; equivalent experience and additional certifications considered. 
• 2+ years of education or experience in IT.
