Internship subject (title): Reliability study of phase change memory integrated in microcontrollers for automotive applications.


Description of the activity/project: Phase-change memory (PCM) at ST is a key enabling technology for non-volatile electrical data storage at the nanometer scale. The intern will have to conduct a reliability study of PCM integrated in microcontrollers for automotive applications; He/she will work within the reliability group that is qualifying Stellar microcontrollers devices. The activity can be divided into these phases: acquire an in-depth knowledge of the PCM memories developed in ST; personally conduct data collection (organization of measurement trials) on material produced with different manufacturing process options, using laboratory equipment with the possibility of having to modify existing test programs; process the results to highlight differences and similarities between the different groups of samples; propose the best process \ algorithm options; summarize and share the observed results with the team.


Skills to be acquired: Knowledge of PCM memories, Knowledge of laboratory tools, organization of experimental work, Knowledge of analysis techniques; production of technical reports; communication of results.
