The Fraunhofer Institute for Silicon Technology ISIT is one of Europe's most modern research institutions for microelectronics and microsystems technology. Approximately 180 employees develop power electronics and microsystems components in Itzehoe and Kiel in close cooperation with industrial partners.

The »Power Electronics« department focuses on developing advanced active and passive power semiconductor components based on silicon and gallium nitride. We also integrate them into power electronic systems and develop battery storage and high-performance storage systems.

• Research in (modular) multilevel power converters and SST development, especially in modulation and control

• Master's or Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering, power electronics, or a comparable qualification in a related field


• Experience applying machine learning techniques with multilevel converters, ideally MMC


• A high degree of independence, initiative, and commitment combined with a high level of curiosity and willingness to learn


• Ability to quickly familiarize yourself with new problems and to take responsibility in a team environment


• Fluent in spoken and written English
