Part-Time Facilities and Health & Safety Assistant (Nord Anglia Education)

About the Role

We are seeking a Part-Time Facilities and Health & Safety (H&S) Assistant to support the day-to-day operations and safety of our H-FARM International School campuses.

Working closely with the Facilities and H&S Manager, you will help ensure that all school facilities are well-maintained, safe, and compliant with local regulations. This hands-on role is vital in creating and maintaining a secure, efficient, and welcoming environment for our students, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities

Facilities and Maintenance Support

• Assist the Facilities and H&S Manager in coordinating daily maintenance, cleaning, and repair activities across all campuses.

• Conduct routine site inspections to identify and report maintenance issues promptly.

• Liaise with contractors and service providers to ensure that on-site work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the required standards.

• Support event and classroom setups, including moving furniture and equipment as needed.

• Monitor and manage maintenance supplies, tools, and consumables.

• Maintain records of maintenance activities, quotes, invoices, and service reports.

• Help coordinate and prioritise maintenance requests to ensure timely follow-up and resolution.

Health & Safety Support

• Support the implementation and monitoring of the school’s Health & Safety policies and procedures.

• Conduct routine checks of fire safety and emergency equipment (e.g., extinguishers, AEDs, first aid kits, emergency lights).

• Assist in maintaining H&S documentation, including inspection logs, risk assessments, and incident reports.

• Help organise and support safety training sessions and emergency drills (e.g., fire or lockdown drills).

• Support the safe management and storage of hazardous materials and substances.

• Report any accidents, hazards, or near misses to the Facilities and H&S Manager in line with school procedures.

Event and Operations Support

• Provide logistical and practical support for school events and activities.

• Ensure event venues are safe, clean, and properly set up.

• Manage the opening and closing of facilities before and after events, ensuring all security procedures are followed.

About You

You are a reliable, proactive, and safety-conscious individual who enjoys practical, hands-on work and takes pride in supporting a thriving school environment. You have strong attention to detail, excellent teamwork skills, and the flexibility to assist with diverse tasks that help the school run smoothly.

Qualifications & Experience

• Previous experience in facilities, maintenance, or H&S support (experience in an educational environment is a plus).

• Good understanding of general building maintenance and safety practices.

• Basic knowledge of Health & Safety procedures and willingness to develop further through training.

• Strong organisational and multitasking abilities.

• Effective communication and teamwork skills.

• Practical, solution-oriented approach to daily challenges.

• Ability to work flexibly, including occasional evenings or weekends to support school events.

• Valid driver’s licence required.
