Industrial Hygiene Officer

Job Description

• Be aware of the latest HSE Regulations and all relevant KOC- HSEMS procedures.
• Liaise with the Supervising Engineer for scheduling and execution of the works.
• Shall ensure that site works comply with Company Industrial hygiene standards.
• Advises on potential hazards arising from any monitoring activities and recommends control measures necessary to minimize exposure to harmful environmental factors.
• Ensure health and hygiene measures are met as per the company’s HSEMS requirements.
• Conduct an Occupational Risk survey to identify possible occupational hazards in the workplace and provide recommendations to mitigate risk.
• Perform and assist with gas testing of various areas to ensure the safety of the work area.
• Conduct training related to industrial hygiene issues that include hazards communications, respiratory protection and wear and use of PPEs, indoor air quality, biological hazards, noise, etc.
• Carry out regular inspections of all areas within the contractor's scope to ensure their compliance with industrial hygiene standards.
• Assist in the preparation of gas monitoring reports.

Skills

• Must be a graduate in Science or engineering from a recognized university or Diploma in Industrial Hygiene / in accordance with HSE Guide Lines for the Contractors.
• Must have completed a minimum of one (1) training module offered by the Bureau of Occupational Safety & Health (BOSH)/ American Industrial Hygienists Association (AIHA).
• Shall have attended one or more HSE courses in any category of training in General Industrial Safety, Construction Safety, etc.
• Shall be subject to interview/trade test by the Company’s HSE Dept. and Asset HSE Team.
• Shall have at least 6 years’ experience in the relevant field.
• Experience in gas leakage treatment works preferably.
• Must have knowledge of GIS preferably.
