Job Summary
Tiqmo is currently looking to hire a seasoned Executive Director for Compliance who is responsible for leading and overseeing the compliance, Anti-Money Laundering (AML), and anti-fraud functions of the company. This pivotal role encompasses both the strategic development and high-level operational execution of policies and procedures.
Primary Duties and Key Responsibilities
- Lead Tiqmo’s compliance department, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to ensure professional development and operational excellence.
- Conduct comprehensive reviews and continuous improvements of the company’s compliance frameworks, AML protocols, and fraud prevention strategies to ensure alignment with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
- Uphold stringent compliance with all regulatory requirements from the Central Bank of Kuwait, mitigating legal and financial risks.
- Oversee the effectiveness of the AML and CFT programs, ensuring compliance with legal obligations and proactive management of potential threats.
- Manage the anti-fraud team to robustly protect customers from fraudulent activities and swiftly respond to any incidents or alerts.
- Coordinate and lead the preparations for external audits and regulatory inspections to demonstrate compliance and operational integrity.
- Engage in detailed risk assessments during customer onboarding, including Enhanced Due Diligence and ongoing risk evaluations, providing summarized insights to leadership.
- Approve interactions with high-risk customers, ensuring all compliance thresholds are met.
- Supervise the maintenance and accuracy of the KYC database, ensuring it reflects up-to-date risk assessments and compliances.
- Document all compliance-related activities thoroughly to ensure clarity and accountability in audits and reviews.
- Develop and implement technology solutions and operational processes to enhance the effectiveness of compliance, AML, and anti-fraud measures.
- Stay abreast of industry developments and regulatory changes by attending relevant training sessions and conferences, and incorporate insights into strategy and training.
- Foster relationships with regulatory bodies and industry leaders to enhance compliance strategies and advocate for Tiqmo’s interests.
Professional Experience and Skills Requirement
- 11+ years in a previous legal or compliance role, with a minimum of 5 years in a managerial role at regulated financial services, payments, or FinTech company.
- Extensive experience driving technology solutions with cross-functional participation and support.
- Expert knowledge of regulations and compliance standard methodologies related to BSA/AML, OFAC, KYC, and Customer Due Diligence.
- Ability to initiate and lead multiple projects simultaneously and in a timely manner and manage projects from start to finish.
- Effective teamwork skills to bring others along, high energy, and proven team-first mentality.
- Demonstrated ability to build positive relationships, as well as management and influencing skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to adapt to relevant audiences, including C-suite level executives and regulators.
Educational Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Management, Finance, Law or any other related field.
