American International University (AIU) is looking for dynamic and engaged full-time faculty for its newly established School of Engineering. We seek individuals who are passionate about teaching and mentoring students, building successful learning environments with students, and collaboratively engaging with faculty and mentoring students.
AIU invites applicants for multiple full-time Faculty (Assistant, Associate) appointments in the Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) program. The ideal candidate is an innovative professional who leverages professional trends and technologies to deliver relevant classroom experiences. The successful candidate will be a leader and current, active member of the ECE field. The successful candidate will be expected to teach courses in:
- Cyber-physical Systems, Internet of Things, Robotics, Microcomputers, Advanced Digital Design
- Controls, Power Systems, Renewable Energy
- Communications, Digital Signal Processing, Electromagnetics
- C++ programming
- Problem-solving and programming, numerical analysis, and advanced computer engineering courses
- Have experience with standard industry tools, including MATLAB, Simulink, 2D & 3D Module, Autodesk AutoCAD Electrical and XCircuits, as well as other undergraduate ECE courses in Electrical Circuits, Electronics, and Digital Design.
The candidate will possess the ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures. The candidate will also be expected to develop research programs, supervise undergraduate students, and make contributions to both school and university service. Evidence of a strong commitment to both teaching and research is required.
Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching at the undergraduate level related to their specific expertise within the professional ECE curriculum. Also, we expect to play an active role in the leadership in undergraduate programs, curriculum development, mentoring, and start-ups. Qualifications:
Masters or PhD degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field Practical communication skills in English University teaching experience Commitment to excellence in teaching, learning, and research Interest and experience working effectively with a diverse university community Ability and willingness to work collaboratively with faculty from a variety of disciplines
Experience:
Preference will be given to applicants with 5 years of experience in teaching.
