Main Duties and Responsibilities/Performance Standards

1

Venipuncture and blood collection

2

Provides appropriate containers for non-blood samples (as urine, stool, semen) to the clients

3

Conforms to laboratory’s policies and procedures for collection and handling of specimens, including proper patient identification, labeling, matching requested with invoiced tests, safety and waste disposal, in addition to infection control measures

4

Immediately transfers collected samples to data-entry desk

5

Answers inquiries related to test requisitions,sample types and volumes and patient preparation requirements

6

Secures respective consents from patient, whenever required

7

Participates in sample collection from home

8

Organizes phlebotomy rooms and organization and refilling of phlebotomy table

9

Responsible to provide patient and family-centered care.

10

Ensures quality and patient safety practices are followed.

11

Promotes inclusive health by providing equitable and accessible care to patients and families with special needs.
