REPORTS TO: PRINCIPAL
Primary Purpose:
Business Teachers teach introductory courses that cover the basics of the field, such as finance, marketing, business operations, and management. They may provide instruction through lectures, textbook readings, and hands-on projects, and they assess students' progress through quizzes and exams as well as class participation. The focus for business teachers is transferring the skills and knowledge students need to become qualified business professionals. These educators train their students to solve business problems, plan for future growth, and strategize how to run a business efficiently and effectively.
Responsibilities:
To demonstrate sound classroom practice and innovation To monitor student progress and set targets to ensure expected progress is achieved To work as part of a team, attend regular meetings and provide a major input into departmental development To participate in the school’s program of continuing professional development Deliver instruction on topics such as the principles of marketing, how to operate a business, and the financial aspects of a business. Improve students' knowledge of business practices. Teach business topics such as basic economics, resume writing, facts about business careers, account checking, computers, the stock market, accounting, and finance. Deliver the skills and knowledge necessary for students to function as responsible citizens in the business world. Create projects designed to enhance lectures. Create lesson plans. Utilize various curriculum resources. Integrate competencies, goals, and objectives into lesson plans. Compile, administer, and grade examinations, or assign this work to others. Prepare course materials such as syllabi, homework assignments, and handouts. Maintain student attendance records, grades, and other required records. Plan, evaluate, and revise curricula, course content, and course materials and methods of instruction. Adapts and reassesses lesson plans to meet specific student needs, comply with newly implemented guidelines or rules, and update relevant information, and include new developments in education Adapts curriculum to fit student needs while maintaining overall class progress Provides a safe, positive learning environment for students Communicates with parents as per school guidelines regularly, including presenting student progress reports and informing parents of requisite student discipline Maintains order and discipline among students while promoting safety and compliance with school rules and guidelines Attends and takes part in school meetings on curriculum, organization, and guidelines
Qualifications:
Native English speaker preferred. Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university A minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience. Outstanding verbal, written, and presentation skills. Ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and employees. Have a strong understanding of higher education institution policies. Strong leadership skills. Computer literacy skills.
