Cost Accountant

Job Description

As a Cost Accountant at our company in Kuwait, you will be responsible for analyzing financial data and providing accurate cost information to assist in the decision-making process. Your role will involve conducting cost analysis, preparing budgets, monitoring expenses, and identifying cost-saving opportunities. We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical individual with excellent mathematical skills and a strong understanding of accounting principles. The ideal candidate should have experience in cost accounting and possess the ability to work with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate reporting and cost control.

Responsibilities:

1. Conduct cost analysis to identify areas of improvement and cost-saving opportunities.
2. Prepare accurate and timely budgets, forecasts, and financial reports.
3. Monitor expenses and analyze variances between actual and budgeted costs.
4. Ensure compliance with accounting principles, policies, and regulations.
5. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze data for cost analysis.
6. Participate in the development and implementation of cost accounting systems and procedures.
7. Provide financial analysis and support to management for decision-making purposes.
8. Assist in month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries and reconciliations.
9. Prepare and present reports on financial performance, cost trends, and cost reduction initiatives.
10. Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Preferred Candidate:

1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
2. Proven work experience as a Cost Accountant, preferably in a manufacturing or production environment.
3. Strong understanding of accounting principles and cost accounting techniques.
4. Proficient in financial analysis and budgeting.
5. Advanced MS Excel skills and experience using accounting software.
6. Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
7. Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
8. Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
9. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
10. Knowledge of Kuwait's accounting regulations and tax laws is preferred.
