Arbeitsbeschreibung - Conducting Officer Valuation and Finance (AIFM)

As a Conducting Officer in charge of the Valuation function and Finance  (AIFM), you play a pivotal role leading a department of professionals dedicated to ensuring that all valuations are accurate, compliant, and aligned with both internal policies and regulatory requirements. Your expertise in valuation methodologies and financial analysis allows you to assess and validate the fair value of a diverse range of assets, including private equity, venture capital, and other alternative investments.

In this position, you collaborate closely with the Conducting Officers and various stakeholders, providing strategic insights that enhance decision-making and drive fundcraft’s growth. Additionally, you are responsible for maintaining and updating valuation frameworks and policies, ensuring they adapt to changing market conditions and regulatory landscapes.

This position is based in Luxembourg and reports directly to the Head of the AIFM.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the valuation department, ensuring the accurate and timely valuation of funds’ assets in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Design and perform valuation assessments and calculations.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of valuation methodologies, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Review and validate external data and valuations, challenging assumptions and methodologies to ensure they are appropriate and justifiable.
  • Collaborate with the fundcraft team to prepare comprehensive valuation reports, highlighting key insights and recommendations for strategic decision-making.
  • Monitor market trends and developments that may impact the valuation of assets, adapting policies and procedures as necessary to reflect current conditions.
  • Facilitate training and development for other members, enhancing their skills in valuation techniques, financial modelling, and regulatory compliance.
  • Support the integration of new valuation technologies and tools, driving efficiencies in the valuation process and enhancing data analysis capabilities.
  • Fulfil the  internal finance responsibility in collaboration with the group’s finance team.
  • Prepare reports to the board of managers of the AIFM and participate in CO meetings.
  • Carry and perform the fundcraft way of working, being platform-first driven in line with the company guidelines and internal organisational requirements.

Skills & Behaviours:

  • Demonstrate extensive knowledge of valuation methodologies (e.g. IPEV), financial instruments, and regulatory requirements related to fund valuation.
  • Exhibit strong leadership skills, fostering a collaborative environment that encourages continuous learning and development.
  • Possess exceptional analytical skills, with the ability to assess complex financial data and formulate sound judgments regarding asset valuations.
  • Maintain excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively present findings and recommendations to stakeholders at all levels.
  • Display a proactive and detail-oriented approach, with a commitment to delivering high-quality results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Adapt to evolving market conditions and regulatory changes, ensuring that valuation frameworks remain relevant and compliant.
  • Embrace technology and innovation, seeking out new tools and methodologies that can enhance valuation processes and improve efficiency.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with clients, auditors, and regulatory bodies to ensure transparency and collaboration in the valuation process.

Profile:

  • Minimum 5-7 years of relevant experience in an AIFM with a valuation focus.
  • Previously authorized by CSSF to  act as Conducting Officer in an AIFM is an advantage
  • Practical experience valuing illiquid assets such as Private Equity positions.
  • Strong knowledge of IPEV Guidelines.
  • Master’s degree required; CFA, CAIA, or FMVA are highly valued strong assets.
  • Experience with S&P Capital IQ Pro is a preference.
