ABOUT THE HOTEL

With a planned opening in the fall of 2024,the Luxembourg Marriott Hotel Alfa will mark Marriott Bonvoy’s first hotel in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. Conveniently located opposite the main train station, the hotel will offer a perfect gateway to explore Luxembourg and its alluring blend of historical charm and modern vitality. On the hotel’s doorstep, guests can find the city’s main historical and cultural landmarks such as the Bock Casemates, National Museum of Art and History and Palace Grand Ducal. Paying tribute to the history of the building since the 1930’s, Luxembourg Marriott Hotel Alfa features a timeless ambience with art deco design elements throughout the signature Greatroom Lobby, executive lounge and 154 guestrooms and suites. The famous Brasserie Alfa, adorned with original paintings of the Luxembourg artist Julien Lefèvre, is set for a revival to become a new dining destination and social hot spot in the city. Guests can enjoy seafood and classical French-inspired delights alongside modern cocktails at the bar. Other facilities at the hotel include a fully equipped gym and five meeting rooms.

ABOUT THE POSITION 

The ideal candidate for this position has extensive experience in luxury brands in a Director of Sales and Marketing position and is fluent in French and English. Ideally the candidate has prior experience in leading a hotel opening or major renovation/conversion.

This is what your day looks like:

  • Primary point of contact on all sales and marketing issues for the General Manager, Owner, Group Sales Team and Area Commercial Leader
  • Developing sales goals and strategies in alignment with the overall business strategy and being responsible for all proactive and reactive (event sales) sales activities as well as for the reservation department
  • Developing marketing and communication strategies
  • Analyzing market and economic trends as well as competitors to continuously strengthen the own position in the market
  • Point of contact for customers, participating in sales calls to acquire new business and/or close deals, and building long-term, value-based customer relationships
  • Developing strong partnerships and collaborations with local organizations to further increase brand/product awareness, participating in customer events, regional and national trade shows
  • Budget planning and controlling
  • Goal setting and performance evaluation of direct team members, as well as coaching and development meetings

  • Knowledge of overall hotel revenue management concepts, processes and strategies
  • Financial resource management, ability to analyze profit and loss (P&L) statements, develop operating budgets and revenue targets, forecast and plan capital expenditures
  • Successfully completed studies with a focus on sales and marketing or comparable training, as well as at least 5-8 years of experience in sales and marketing with management responsibility
