Linux & Middleware Engineer

We currently have a vacancy for a Linux & Middleware Engineer (BI Expertise) fluent in English, to offer his/her services as an expert who will be based in Luxembourg. The work will be carried out either in the companys premises or on site at customer premises. In the context of the first assignment, the successful candidate will be integrated in the Development team of the company that will closely cooperate with a major clients IT team on site.

Your tasks

• Manage and monitor databases and applications servers;
• Monitor correct operations of the data base and application servers;
• Carry out capacity analysis and system evaluation;
• Apply data integrity control procedures as well as security procedures;
• Provide second level support;
• Provide support to developers in optimizing query performances;
• Plan and ensure the evolution of databases and application servers;
• Support business continuity, assist in the resolution of incidents and pro-actively recommend actions to raise the reliability and resilience of databases and application servers;
• Elaborate cost/benefit analysis for the adoption of new technologies.

Requirements

• Masters degree in IT or relevant discipline, combined with minimum 17 years of relevant working experience in IT;
• Experience with middleware and databases systems;
• Excellent knowledge of relational database systems (Oracle database administration (versions 11g and higher));
• Excellent knowledge of Weblogic administration (11g and higher);
• Excellent knowledge of SQL;
• Excellent knowledge of Atlassian products system administration;
• Excellent knowledge of automation (scripts, continuous integration servers, configuration management);
• Excellent knowledge of business intelligence reporting tools;
• Knowledge of Linux & Windows servers administration;
• Knowledge of Linux/unix shell scripting;
• Knowledge of Postgres database administration;
• Knowledge of ITIL;
• Knowledge of Business Objects administration (BO 3 and 4);
• Knowledge of Tomcat administration;
• Excellent command of the English language, while fluency in French would be an asset.
