Officer 1 - Risk Management

What’s the role?

To provide professional and first-class services to a portfolio of alternative clients in line with the defined business activities. To promote the positive image of Gen II through the professional application of services and knowledge.  All tasks to be carried out efficiently and effectively, in accordance with Gen II’s procedures.

 What you’ll be doing

As a Junior Risk Officer, you will be responsible for the daily risk analysis and general office duties where necessary. This is an ideal position for someone looking to develop their career and progression opportunities with a dynamic team.

Your role may include, but will not be limited to, the following tasks. The list of defined business activities is not exhaustive and may be amended from time to time:

Main responsibilities:

• Ensure that Risk Management Process addresses all risks to which the funds are exposed;


• Perform initial and ongoing risk assessments for each fund managed;


• Prepare and monitor the regular risk reporting of funds


• Monitor and report on the regulatory and prospectus investment restrictions regarding the compliance of Funds


• Analysis and reporting of risk monitoring and risk effectiveness procedures for the use of senior management and clients;


• Assist the Conducting Officers with their daily function;


• Prepare monthly and quarterly reports for risk and compliance


• Daily risk reporting preparation and review with the necessary escalation of critical issues;


• Review fund’s risk profiles and calibrate risk limits;


• When needed conduct risk reviews for all managed products to assess the effectiveness of risk monitoring and its adequacy with the risk profile;


• Performing pre-trade checks for non-liquid assets;


• Assists in the analysis and implementation of regulatory changes (CSSF circulars, UCITS, AIFMD, ESMA guidelines);


• Contribute to the preparation of annual CSSF Risk Management reports and Annex IV (AIFMD) reporting.

The ideal background for this role:

Qualifications & Experience

• University degree in Finance/Economics or similar


• Up to 2 years of related experience in Luxembourg fund services industry in risk management.


• Risk management background, with experience of Alternative Investment Funds.

Skills & Abilities

• Good understanding of financial mathematics, statistics and modelling techniques


• Awareness of fund industry related regulation


• Excellent written and verbal proficiency in English;


• Knowledge of GenAI


• Outstanding communication skills with an ability to handle multiple business tasks


• Proficiency in English language, both written and spoken


• Any other language would be an advantage

Role Location/Hybrid Schedule

This role is based in our Luxembourg office. Although the nature of most of the roles within Gen II cannot be classed as totally flexible, there is scope in some cases for a form of Agile Working. The different ways in which Agile Working can be undertaken is dependent on the demands and needs of the business, the office space available and the individual’s preferences and circumstances.
