Senior Storage and Backup Engineer

We are actively looking for a motivated Senior Backup & Storage Engineer who will be responsible for implementing, and managing enterprise-level storage and backup systems across on-premises, hybrid, and cloud environments. This role ensures data integrity, availability, and recoverability while collaborating with cross-functional teams to enable robust disaster recovery and resilience strategies. 

Key responsibilities:

• Set-up and maintain Storage devices’ definitions and policies. 
• Set-up and maintain Backup tool and corresponding application’s modules definitions and policies.
• Drive and enforce standard based deployments.
• Perform periodic analysis of vulnerabilities available with the corresponding risk and impact assessment, in conjunction with the providers, to ensure a stable and safe setup.
• In coordination with the providers, install updates and patches to hardware and software. Perform routine and preventive maintenance task. 
• Analysis and propose configuration to deploy.
• Architecture and Reference Configuration definition.
• CMDB maintenance.
• Decommissioning: data migration in coordination with other teams, logical disk shredding, and configuration cleaning.
• Monitoring of the Backup and Storage infrastructures.
• Incident follow-up and resolution (ServiceNow).
• After major system events, a Root Cause Analysis (RCA) has to be presented, including the preventive measures to take to limit possible reoccurrences.
• Service requests follow-up and resolution (ServiceNow).
• Generate reports on the overall status of the services’ infrastructure.

• At least 10 years of experience in Backup&Storage domain within a large environment.
• University degree or equivalent level through experience and professional training.
• Good knowledge in some of the following tools is required:
  • Commvault
  • HYCU
  • SAN (Brocade)
  • Storage (Hitachi) infrastructure knowledge
  • PureStorage
  • NetApp NAS storage arrays (FASxxxx, AFFxxx) with Snapmirror
  • DELL PowerScale (Isilon)
  • NetApp StorageGrid S3 Objectstorage
  • Cloudian S3 Objectstorage.
  • Considered as a PLUS: scripting knowledge in Perl or Python; Ansible knowledge; Terraform
• Ability and willingness to quickly learn new technologies, capable of self-study.
• Strong communication skills, process minded and able to maintain the high level overview.
• Fluency in English (at least B2 Level). French is considered as an asset.
