Accountant (based in Singapore)

Job Purpose Duties include coordinating daily accounting activities, creating journal entries in the ledger, preparing tax returns, developing financial statements, reporting financial status to shareholders, and managing accounts payable and receivable. Key Responsibilities

• Accounts Payable (AP)

• Verify expense suppliers' invoices by performing 3-way matching and follow-up to resolve discrepancies or AP-related matters consistently.
• Monitor payment plans and process payments promptly.
• Check, verify, and process marketing claims.
• Check and verify monthly payments to factories and freight invoices.
• Creating bills in the system for stocks and sample charges.
• Creating entries in the system for all freight invoices.
• Updating Item Receipts with freight invoice number
• Monthly reconciliation of accrued freight handling and sourcing commission.
• Ensure purchases are recorded and payments are processed timely.

2. Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Check and verify retail bank reconciliation for retail and e-commerce stores and ensure entries created in the system are correct, tallying company vouchers, which includes liaising with retail store personnel,
• Approve sales orders/ upload sales price

3. GL

• Perform GL entries and ensure all relevant adjustments are put through.
• Maintain audit schedules and ensure all reconciling items are adjusted.

4. Others

• Fixed Asset System maintenance.
• Preparation of LC issuance and submission.
• Intercompany balance confirmation.
• Tax and audit-related matters.
• Support Finance Manager on operational and technical matters
• and any other ad-hoc matters as assigned.

Experience/ Skills Required

• Degree in Accounting and preferably with ACCA/CIMA/CPA qualification.
• A member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants/ACCA is an added advantage.
• Minimum 5 years of related experience and with minimum of 2 years experience at the managerial level in an MNC or high-volume environment
• Proficient in MS Office and mid to large-scale ERP systems.
• Mature, organized, meticulous, and highly initiative with a positive attitude
• Candidates MUST BE fluent in Mandarin as the role requires the candidate to work with products that are marketed in Mandarin.
