Accountant / Account Executives will be working within a company by Wilhelmsen Ship Management (WSM), a comprehensive global maritime group providing over half of the merchant fleet with essential products and services, along with supplying crew and technical management to the largest and most complex vessels ever to sail.

 

With a pool of more than 9,200 seafarers and over 500 shore-based employees all over the world, Wilhelmsen Ship Management is one of world’s largest third-party ship managers with a portfolio of more than 450 vessels and counting.

The company is a growing company operating in a fast-paced industry with high volume transactions.

This position will be acquiring direction and reporting to the Finance Manager of the company.

Job Summary:

As the Accountant/Account Executive, you will be responsible for financial accounting and operation of the company.

You will be performing financial activities of the company's operations.

You will ensure accuracy in financial records, compliance with accounting standards, statutory audit and tax, and contribute to the overall financial health and success of the business.

Working with the business leader, finance and support functions, you are responsible to establish end to end processes, enable systems and processes for recording of financials activities in ERP.

Main Responsibilities:

Enable new process & system, implement controls and compliance:

• Execute processes and manage workflows, implement new ERP system.
• Adherance to internal controls to ensure compliance
• Support external auditors and ensure a smooth audit process.

General Ledger & Financial Recording:

• Perform account receivables, reconciliations and resolve discrepancies promptly.
• Perform payments to suppliers timely
• Prepare accurate and timely financial statements - income statements and balance sheets
• Perform balance sheet reconciliation and follow up clearing.
• Ensure compliance with WMS policies, accounting principles, IFRS standards and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain the general ledger and oversee day-to-day accounting activities to ensure a proper interaction and flow of information with other departments.

Qualifications

Mandatory requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Experiences min. 2-6 years
• Prior knowledge & experience in airline, travel, and/or services industry preferred.
• Proficiency in financial reporting system Microsoft Dynamics NAV. BI, SAP Business.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
