Database Administrator

Requirement,  Desired Skills & Experience:

1. Proven working experience as a Database Administrator.
2. Working experience at least 3 years in relevant areas.
3. Hands-on experience with database standards and end user applications.
4. Excellent knowledge of data backup, recovery, security, integrity and SQL.
5. Familiarity with database design , documentation and coding.
6. Previous experience with DBA case tools (frontend/backend) and third party tools.
7. Familiarity with programming languages API.
8. Problem solving skills and ability to think algorithmically.
9. Degree in a computer discipline or relevant certification.

Skillset :

Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL and others.

Job Description/ Primary Responsibilities:

1. Create ways to store, organize, and present data.
2. Work with businesses and managers to identify user needs.
3. Perform complex technical, analytical and professional services involving program/member services, evaluation, database-driven Web sites, office operations.
4. Administer a variety of database systems including Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL and others.
5. Maintain and administer Web server and middleware tools.
6. Set up new computer databases.
7. Integrate old systems data with new system.
8. Test and coordinate modifications.
9. Assume the technical lead for SQL Server and online database projects.
10. Create high-level reporting systems.
11. Audit, modify, and amend data in systems using SQL commands, hand-editing, and bulk import.
12. Supports application development team by recognizing and evaluating database issues and implementing solutions.
13. Monitor database and server logs for unusual events, and troubleshoot errors.
14. Perform database housekeeping
15. Assists in database restoration and recovery
16. Troubleshoot and correct issues as they arise.
17. Prepare, plan and standby for DRP testing for all active system with corresponding Systems and IT Owner.
18. Ensure system is running smoothly.
19. Add new users to the system as needed.
20. Plan and coordinate security measures alongside network administrators.
21. Enhance or build database designs.
22. Drives improvement within and across teams
23. Ensure compliance schedule for everyday operations.
24. Implements repeatable and maintainable procedures
25. Maintain standards of service levels at all times, ensure response with timeframe and manage all available services.
26. Supervise all batch jobs as per requirement.
27. Participate and assist in certification and accreditation activities such as ISMS, WebTrust Audits, including Database Security Test and Evaluation (ST&E), Database Risk Assessment, and Vulnerability.
28. Assists with business continuity (BC) and disaster recovery (DR) planning.
29. Applies full understanding of the business, the customer, and the solutions that a business offers to effectively design, develop, and implement operational capabilities, tools, and processes that enable highly available, scalable, & reliable customer experiences.
30. Develops and maintains automated, zero-downtime deployment capability environment.
