Finance Manager

Stonyhurst International School, Penang is looking to appoint a qualified and experienced Finance Manager who is able to manage the day-to-day finance and administrative functions as well as general accounting which includes preparing journal entries, maintaining ledgers and balance sheet, bank reconciliations, and assist in monthly closings and accounts analysis. This includes but not limited to assisting and coordinating with the preparation of audit process to ensure the full compliance to reporting deadlines accounting standards and tax laws, which includes the preparation of relevant schedules to be provided to the auditors and tax agents. • Candidate must possess at least Diploma/Advanced/Higher/Graduate Diploma in Finance/Accountancy/Banking or other relevant experience.
• At least 4 years of working experience in a school environment and/or in the related field is an added advantage.
• Good English written and verbal communication skills
• Perform and handles full set of accounts and ensure the timely and accurate preparation and closing of monthly management accounts (trial balance, financial statements, subsidiary ledgers, etc.) and supporting schedules to the financial statements. This includes but not limited general ledger operations and preparing journal entries.
• Ensure all accounting and financial management practices are carried out in strict adherence to group accounting policy and approved accounting standards.
• Monitoring income and expenditure in relation to budget and presenting regular management reports to the Management.
• Provide secretarial support and to oversees the production of the reports for School's Executive Committee meeting.
• Maintaining cash flow projections for the current and future years and as required.
• Preparation of annual budget, forecasts, and financial plan.
• Handle the recoverable accounts to ensure that all transactions are being accounted accordingly accurately and timely.
• Preparation and coordination of audit process to ensure the full compliance to reporting deadlines accounting standards and tax laws, which include the preparation of relevant schedules o be provided to the auditors and tax agents.
• Self-motivated, team player, and have a strong time management with multi-tasking skills.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
• Preferably specialised in Finance - General, Cost Accounting, Audit, Taxation or equivalent.
• IT skills and familar with school information systems in particular ISAMS.
• Experience of accounting software in particular XERO/SAGE 300.
• Work under limited supervision following standardised practices and/or methods.
