Job Description & Summary

As a Manager, you’ll work as part of a team of problem solvers, helping to solve complex business issues from strategy to execution. PwC Professional skills and responsibilities for this management level include but are not limited to:

  • Coordination and Supervision - Coordinate, manage and monitor the workings of a team of young professionals.
  • Work Plan - Monitor and analyse performance metrics, trends, and KPIs to assess the effectiveness of Center of Excellence initiatives and identify areas for improvement.
  • Communication - Monitor, manage and improve the efficiency of support services as well as facilitate the coordination and communication between support functions.
  • Strategic Input - Fostering strong relationships and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. Assist in the development of strategic plans for operational activity.
  • Client portfolio management - Assisting on client tax compliance matters and fostering strong relationships on client accounts.
  • Pursue opportunities to develop existing and new skills outside of your comfort zone.
  • Act to resolve issues which prevent effective team working, even during times of change and uncertainty.
  • Coach others and encourage them to take ownership of their development.
  • Analyse complex ideas or proposals and build a range of meaningful recommendations.
  • Use multiple sources of information including broader stakeholder views to develop solutions and recommendations.
  • Address sub-standard work or work that does not meet firm’s/client’s expectations.
  • Manage a variety of viewpoints to build consensus and create positive outcomes for all parties.
  • Focus on building trusted relationships.
  • Uphold the firm’s code of ethics and business conduct.

Requirements

  • Degree in Accounting / Economics / Finance or any other relevant disciplines and/or a professional accounting qualification.
  • Minimum 6 years of experience with a proven track record of success in driving operational excellence and leading teams preferably within Tax function
  • Relevant experience in International corporate tax or Malaysian corporate tax would be an added advantage
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Communicates with impact, knowledge and strong understanding of internal and external client’s needs.
  • Ability and willingness to keep up-to-date with Tax technical developments.
  • Experience managing a large team of more than 15 members.
  • Experience coaching and providing guidance to team members.
