Safety Health Officer

Health, Safety & Environment (Construction)

• To prepare, compile, submit and to obtain approval for the Environmental, Safety & Health policy for all construction projects of the company.
• Conduct daily safety inspections in ensuring all workers are in full compliance with safe work practices and in accordance with HSE manual at their respective work areas. 
• To ensure the compliance with OSHA works’ procedures and all other statutory requirements pertaining to Environmental, Safety and Health matters. 
• To participate and to work closely with site team in the investigation of site incidents and to determine root causes, prepare accident reports and follow through with corrective actions, and ensure the accidents are reported to relevant authorities immediately.
• Prepare all necessary required documentations and conduct and all attend all regular Toolbox and Safety meetings. 
• To liaise with OSHA, JKKP, and other relevant local authorities on all issues related to Safety & Health compliance and regulations.
• Review and ensure all safety requirements of all clients and consultants’ representatives at site and all other visitors are fully complied with. 
• To conduct safety orientation and briefing sessions for all newly employed staff and workers at site. And to ensure all necessary documentations such as CIDB and work permits are fully complied with and properly recorded. 
• To update all postings in relation to Health and safety policy, inspection and audit results, project hazard assessment, locations of first aids boxes and safety notice board are properly maintained. 
• Ensure all HSE manual, the required safety legislation and regulations, site safety inspection forms, observation forms, safety logbooks, are properly kept at site.
• To administer and participate in all period EHS, internal and others external safety audits and inspections. 
• Conduct periodic safety visits, meeting, and audits to ensure compliance of HSE requirements is met in all company’s project site.
• Carry out any other duties in relation to the compliance of Environmental, Safety & Health requirements and regulations to be assigned by Project Manager, Senior Project Manager / Project Director or Management.

Requirement(s): 

• Candidate must possess at least Professional Certificate, bachelor’s degree/ Post-Graduate Diploma/ Professional Degree in Engineering (Civil), Engineering (Environmental/Health/Safety) or equivalent. 
• At least 10 years of relevant working experience, preferably in the construction industry.
• MUST have experience in “ High Rise ” projects not less than 5 years.
• Registered SAFETY HEALTH OFFICER (SHO) with DOSH (valid Green Book)
• Willing to work OR relocate to LANGKAWI, KEDAH.
