As a Technical Director, we are looking for a highly motivated and independent leader with a passion for all things gaming. You will report directly to the Department Head and be responsible for shaping the team while building the latest technologies, crafting features within our games, and working with other talented departments and leads.Duties and ResponsibilitiesTeam LeadCommunicate the project's editorial vision and engage your team on the evolution of deliverables;Define the technical vision within the project's Gameplay team + plan its technical roadmap;Regularly meet with your programming team to discuss progress; tackle setbacks; share updates; present features; give feedback; informatively and constructively explain the root causes of risks and issues; etc.;Voice the challenges, the observations, and make recommendations on behalf of the project's programming teams upwards in the organization to ensure project success;Create and continuously re-focus the technology strategy for your game;Mentor and motivate programmers to develop their technical skills + provide them with what they need to work efficiently and achieve quality (tools, pipelines, etc.);Work closely with game design and content creation teams to help maximize the capabilities of the technologies being used,Lead the programming team to define what's possible. Look ahead at upcoming technology and plan for the future;Write elegant code customized to the hardware you're working with;Provide technical oversight by reviewing code and making technical validations;Work with Lead Programmers to oversee planning and staffing for your programming teams.Anticipate and assess complex, escalated issues + propose adapted solutions;Sync up with Lead Programmers to remove blockers and keep production moving forward;Train your Lead Programmers to improve their management and strategic skills continuously;Communicate with interdependent teams on other projects to exchange information;Stay updated on technological advancements and industry standards to define our best practices + share them with our studios.Evaluate and lead the discussion from a technical standpoint for incoming potential client projects.Act as a role model . You demonstrate care for people, express inclusive behaviors, and foster a safe and respectful work environment;Be the safety net that allows your team to flourish;Build and leverage an inter-project network to facilitate collaboration across locations, departments, and disciplines.Evaluate and lead the discussion from a technical standpoint for incoming potential client projects.Support the team to work together to accomplish the current (sprint/milestone/goal) and support them while providing encouragement and support.
