JOB DESCRIPTION:

PRIMARY FUNCTION
The Logistics Manager is responsible for Freight & Distribution across APAC countries covering freight, transportation, warehousing & distribution. Manage a team of Logistics Analyst to address all logistics matters for our affiliates and customer. Maintain high standard metrics and goals to measure and assess logistics performance. Foster positive working relationships with area and affiliates cross functional team including distributors, source DC & global logistics. Act as Logistics SME and escalation contact point for affiliate leadership on logistics matter.

 

 
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

• Logistics SME for APAC countries at an estimated business size of USD 580mil and distribution spent of USD 25mil
• Lead and manage Logistics team for APAC distributor market to meet customer and business requirement
• Collaborate with Area Planning and Customer Service Head to plan and execute strategic direction for Logistics operation
• Manage 3PL warehouse operation, international inbound and affiliate outbound logistics for distributor market.
• Responsible for effective operation of all 3PL warehouse including inventory accuracy through regular cycle count program
• Act as escalation point to drive and resolve customer complaint on operation issue and timely implement corrective action in relation to warehouse/logistics
• Act as main contact for Global Custom & Trade. Ensure customs regulations are met and to monitor custom brokerage performance
• Close contact with Global Custom & Trade and keep up to date on changes to custom regulation
• Publish and review monthly operational metrics to monitor efficiency of warehouse operation, freight forwarder, broker & local transporter
• Support yearly Freight & Distribution budget cycle. Manage operation and logistics cost within budget
• Drive and collaborate with Global Logistics on warehouse and transportation tender
• Drive affiliates warehouse and local transportation tender and implementation
• Drive continuous improvement program to improve operational efficiency and Gross Margin including sustainability initiatives
• Collaborate with Area Customer Service Head, global export operation and global logistic to define processes and ensure logistics playbook is up to date against actual process. Execute on boarding training for new joiner and conduct refresher training for incumbent staff to maintain high level of process consistency
• Conduct coaching, performance appraisal and develop together with direct manager a career pipeline for succession plan
• Continue to review resources to optimize productivity and service level
• Drive team spirit and inculcate positive and proactive behavior in making Abbott the best place to work
• Drive team members to adhere with the strict Abbott OEC policy and procedures

EDUCATION/ BACKGROUND EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor degree holder from Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Warehouse Management or Business related discipline
• 10+ years of working experience in warehouse operation, international shipping and logistics operation from global healthcare, medical device, pharma or FMCG with 5 years in regional context
• Minimum 4 years of supervisory experience managing 5 to 10 team members
• Experience in SAP S4 Hana is a plus
• Experience in managing international freight forwarder, distributor & custom broker
• Experience with WMS (warehouse management system) & TMS (transport management system) is a plus
• Ability to interact with multiple levels of cross functional management team is required
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills in multi-cultural enviroment
• Strong leadership & influencing skills, passionate and self-driven
• Proactive problem solver with strong customer centric mindset
• Proficient in English with multiligual of other Asian languages is a plus
• Computer literacy. Strong in MS Office and Power BI
