About The Role The Sustainability Principal is a newly crafted role with a remit to further develop and improve AIA's commitment to sustainability. This position will drive impact through both the review and improvement of the AIA Group ESG strategy at the AIA Malaysia level and assist AIA Malaysia in interaction with Industry working groups, regulators and other relevant bodies, and to ensure Compliance with Regulatory requirements.

• Identify and participate in key external forums to influence policy with regards to ESG matters and amplify visibility for AIA Malaysia in partnership with other divisions.
• Work with industry peers and lead industry groups to facilitate implementation of climate related regulatory requirements.
• Improve current ESG policies, data collection and reporting at local business level.
• Work closely with colleagues to facilitate improved understanding and integration of ESG factors into their business areas, covering both risks and opportunities.
• Assist AIA MY in setting the vision and program for 2030 aligned with the Group ESG approach.
• Provide technical ESG assistance and support to AIA Malaysia companies (The Companies), including mentor and standard process sharing particularly related to SBTi Net Zero goals and regulatory requirements.
• Identify areas where The Companies can improve environmental, social and governance impact.
• Remain up to date on ESG trends and developments and translating them into actionable improvements in the fund and portfolio companies.
• Facilitate the proceedings of the ESG Committee by providing relevant and material updates on ESG matters including regulatory requirements if any.
• Continue to embed the Company's ESG Approach by developing targets, goals and critical metrics at entity level in collaboration with Group ESG team.
• Embed responsibility for ESG data collection, management, and increase overall awareness of ESG topics across department functions.
• Collaborate with relevant internal team members to ensure regulatory requirements as well as ESG targets and proof points are met on a timely basis.
