Education and Care Manager – Gordon Square

Lady Gowrie is seeking an Education and Care Manager for our Gordon Square Long Day Care Service in George Town, Northern Tasmania. Lady Gowrie is a non-for-profit community-based organisation providing Education and Care to children from birth to 12 years of age.

Employment Type: Full Time or 9 Day Fortnight

ABOUT THE ROLE

Our Education and Care Manager’s are responsible for delivery quality play-based programs in line with Lady Gowrie’s philosophy Children First and the quality and safeguarding of children participating in their Service. The Gordon Square Long Day Care Service has 20 – 30 children each day with 11 Education and Care Practitioners and an Educational Leader working with our Northern Services supporting Pedagogy and Practice.

The Education and Care Manager reports to the Regional Manager for Education and Care Northern Long Day Care Services and works collaboratively with Education and Care Managers across 6 services.

As part of the role, you will:

• Manage the delivery of high-quality Early Childhood Education and Care based on quality programs and practice.
• Build strong trusting relationships with children, families, and your team.
• Lead and mentor your team to ensure children are safe and engaged in our programs.
• Assist the development or organisational policies, procedures, and practices to promote the support high quality and cost-effective service provision.
• Encourage meaningful family participation in all aspects of service provision.
• Complete relevant administrative tasks
• Have a focus on safety for the children and your staff.
• Facilitate regular and effective two-way communication between management and staff.
• Lead the service through Assessment and Rating process, and targeted visits from the Regulatory Authority
• Coordinate and approve staff time sheets and leave applications on our time and attendance system, currently, Time Target, ensuring timely and accurate completion.
• Roster and planning staffing and leave to ensure continuity of quality service delivery.
• Develop, implement, and regularly review staff rosters to support high quality, staff equity and cost-effective service provision.
• Runnings regular team meetings for your service

ABOUT YOU

• Hold a bachelor’s degree in early education and care or the equivalent (preferred), or
• Diploma of Early Childhood Education & Care (or equivalent)
• Current Driver’s Licence
• Minimum 5 years-experience in Early Education & Care.
• Proven understanding and practical application of Education and Care Regulations, National Law, and National Quality Framework
• Have a passion for creating exciting, fun, and meaningful learning and leisure experiences for children.
• Have strong leadership and organisational skills.
• Have experience with Storypark and Qikkids or the ability to learn new systems quickly.
• Hold a current registration for Working with Vulnerable People (Child Related Activity) for an employee.
• Current Police Check
