- A bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, procurement, or a related field. A master's degree or relevant certification (such as CSCP or CPSM) may also be preferred.
- Extensive experience in procurement, sourcing, and supply chain management, preferably in a retail environment. Experience in managing a procurement team and developing procurement strategies is crucial.
- Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships with suppliers. Experience in negotiating contracts, pricing, and terms with suppliers is essential.
- Knowledge of retail industry trends, market dynamics, and supplier capabilities. Understanding of consumer behavior and how it impacts procurement decisions is also important.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess procurement processes, identify areas for improvement, and implement effective solutions.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills to effectively manage a team, collaborate with stakeholders, and influence decision-making.
- Knowledge of procurement tools and technologies, such as e-procurement systems, supplier portals, and data analytics, to streamline processes and drive efficiency.
- Familiarity with legal and regulatory requirements related to procurement, such as anti-corruption laws, import/export regulations, and intellectual property rights.
- Ability to adapt to changing market conditions, anticipate potential risks, and make strategic decisions to ensure the organization's competitiveness and profitability.
