Occupational Therapist

Responsibilities

1. Assess students’ fine motor skills, sensory processing, coordination, self-care, and functional abilities.
2. Develop and implement individualized intervention plans based on assessment results.
3. Provide one-to-one or small group therapy sessions within classroom or therapy settings.
4. Monitor student progress and adjust intervention plans as needed.
5. Support students with special needs, learning difficulties, developmental delays, or physical challenges.
6. Recommend classroom adaptations, assistive devices, and ergonomic supports.
7. Promote inclusive practices to help students participate fully in academic and school activities.
8. Work closely with teachers, special education staff, counselors, and school administrators.
9. Provide guidance and training to teachers and parents on strategies to support student development.
10. Participate in Individual Education Plan (IEP) meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions.
11. Maintain accurate assessment records, therapy notes, and progress reports.
12. Prepare written reports for parents, teachers, and school management.
13. Ensure confidentiality and compliance with school policies and professional standards.
14. Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress and needs.
15. Provide home-based strategies and recommendations to support continuity of care.
16. Stay updated with best practices in pediatric and school-based occupational therapy.
17. Adhere to ethical standards and relevant regulations.
18. Participate in professional development and school meetings as required.

Requirements

1. Degree in Occupational Therapy from a recognized institution.
2. Registered or licensed Occupational Therapist (as per local regulations).
3. Experience working with children in a school or pediatric setting is preferred.
4. Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
5. Patient, empathetic, and child-centered approach.
