Role Overview:

Join Kakki Katsu as the Founder's Associate and play a crucial role in shaping the future of our Japanese curry restaurant. In this position, you will work closely with the founder to manage daily operations, enhance our supply chain, and boost our marketing efforts. Your work will directly influence our efficiency, customer satisfaction, and growth in the Malaysian food market.

In this role, you will apply your expertise in business management and your passion for the culinary arts to enhance our operational efficiency, cultivate valuable relationships with suppliers and partners, and expand our market presence. Your efforts will ensure Kakki Katsu continues to thrive and adapt in a competitive food scene, maintaining high standards of quality and customer satisfaction while exploring new opportunities for growth.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic

  • Develop and execute business strategies to enhance profitability and efficiency.
  • Analyze business performance and recommend improvements to meet or exceed financial and operational targets.

Operations

  • Assist the founder in day-to-day operations, including front-of-house service, kitchen management, order processing, and customer support.
  • Streamline operational processes to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Coordinate between front-of-house and back-of-house to ensure seamless service delivery.

Supply Chain & Relationship Management

  • Source, build, develop and maintain relationships with suppliers to minimise cost and maximise quality
  • Build, develop and maintain relationships with key partners and other strategic stakeholders.
  • Negotiate contracts with suppliers to secure advantageous terms.

Marketing

  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify opportunities for growth and expansion.
  • Assist in developing and executing marketing campaigns.
  • Create visually appealing content for social media, website, and in-store promotions.
  • Monitor and engage with our community on social media platforms.
  • Plan and execute events and promotions to attract new customers.
  • Analyze marketing campaign performance and adjust strategies as needed.

HR/Administrative

  • Record keeping
  • Manage payroll and coordinate employee scheduling to ensure adequate staffing at all times.
  • Oversee staff training and development programs to maintain high service standards.

Ad-hoc

Ad-hoc duties might include but are not limited to:

  • Assisting with financial planning, budgeting, and reporting to ensure efficient allocation of resources.
  • Leading special projects that may include restaurant remodels, menu redesigns, or technology upgrades.
  • Act as the point of contact for emergency situations requiring immediate resolution.

  • Proactive desire to go above and beyond role requirements.
  • Experience in a fast-paced environment, preferably in the food and beverage industry.
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, hospitality management, or related field is advantageous.
