A2R Indirect Tax Senior Accountant
About the role:
We are looking for a driven tax professional to join our Sanofi Finance team. This is a key role in managing the Asia indirect tax function including both ensuring compliance obligations are met as well as partnering and advising the business on indirect tax matters.
Core model Implementation
Implement and ensure alignment with SBO core model
Propose and support any project which aim to align to core model but also transform and automate our processes
Embrace RPA mindset
Compliance
Ensure SOX and Internal Control Framework compliance across activities, and support A2R Lead/Supervisor and Country Finance to identify and address any gaps
Support external and internal audits by working closely with A2R Lead/Supervisor and Country Finance
Ensure adequate follow up on issues identified during external and internal audit
Operations
Prepare and manage GST compliance, lodgements, reporting and processing journals for Asia entities
Manage non-resident withholding tax obligations including the annual reconciliation
Prepare month-end indirect tax reconciliations and reporting as needed
Partner with the business to provide indirect tax (GST) advice, support and responses to queries within the confines of the legislation
Maintain and enhance the operational effectiveness of tax internal controls and governance e.g. ensuring all documents are referenced and process guides / manuals are regularly updated
Monitor developments and updates to indirect tax related legislative changes
Assist with statutory audit questions and liaise with auditors regarding indirect tax related matters
Assist with adhoc Indirect Tax IRD reviews/audits
Preparation of tax memos and file notes to support technical positions
Other adhoc assistance to the Tax Manager where required.
Continuous improvement
Support A2R Lead/Supervisor in monitoring performance on a continuous basis against agreed SLAs and define corrective actions, where necessary
Identify and articulate improvement areas across processes and technology – including ERP and other tools and solutions
Contribute to customer satisfaction initiatives, including regular assessment of service satisfaction across Country Finance and other stakeholders
Essential Skills and Experience
At least 5 years working experience in Taxation
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong attention to detail
Proficient in MS Excel
Experience with SAP or equivalent is an advantage
Proven experience with a similar indirect tax role in a multinational environment
Tertiary qualifications majoring in Tax/ Accounting
Commercial mindset with the ability to partner with and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Desirable Skills and Experience
Working experience in a customer-facing and service-oriented corporate position
Working experience in a Finance shared services environment, either captive (in-house) or in a BPO setting
Essential Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree/Professional Degree in Accounting/Finance/Business or equivalent
