As part of our continued growth, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced Regional Manager (Category Team Lead) to lead our procurement team and contribute to the overall success of our organization.
Position Overview:
The Senior Manager (Category Team Lead) plays a crucial role in optimizing our procurement and supply chain operations, ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services essential to our healthcare delivery. This leadership position requires strategic vision, strong managerial skills, and a deep understanding of procurement processes within the healthcare sector. This leadership position manages non-medical categories (IT, Facility Services, Medical Equipment, Office Product & Service, Marketing, HR, etc) across 18 hospitals in Malaysia.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Procurement Management:
- Develop and implement category strategies aligned with the hospital chains overall objectives.
- Foster relationships with suppliers, negotiate contracts, and secure advantageous terms and conditions.
Team Leadership and Development:
- Lead, mentor, and inspire a high-performing procurement team.
- Establish clear performance metrics and regularly assess the teams effectiveness.
Vendor Relationship Management:
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with key vendors and suppliers.
- Evaluate vendor performance, ensuring adherence to quality, cost, and delivery standards.
Cost Optimization:
- Identify opportunities for cost savings without compromising quality or patient care.
- Implement best practices and innovative solutions to enhance procurement efficiency.
Compliance and Risk Management:
- Ensure procurement activities comply with relevant laws, regulations, and ethical standards.
- Implement risk mitigation strategies and maintain awareness of industry trends.
Technology Integration:
- Explore and implement advanced procurement technologies to streamline processes.
- Collaborate with IT teams to leverage data analytics for informed decision-making.
Collaboration with Stakeholders:
- Work closely with department heads to understand their procurement needs and objectives.
- Collaborate with finance, operations, and other relevant departments to align procurement strategies with organizational goals.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field;
- Proven experience in procurement management within the healthcare sector, with a minimum of 8 years in a leadership role.
- In-depth knowledge of healthcare procurement regulations, policies, and best practices will be an advantage.
- Experience of using any ERP and e-sourcing tool (Ariba, Oracle, SAP)
- Ability to influence key internal stakeholders with strong emphasis on relationship building.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and develop high-performing teams.
