Job Description

Job Descriptions

  • Create, manage and coordinate strategies, policies, programs and systems that ensures effective management of the workforce and their ongoing well-being in the workplace.
  • Develop thorough knowledge of our corporate culture, policies & employees. To act as an internal change agent and consultant in educating all stakeholders with your HR expertise.
  • Lead the Human Resource Department and manage the achievement of the departments’ objectives and its’ subsequent improvements.
  • Liaise with HR Vendors; HRMS, Attendance, Auditors, Insurance Agents, Recruitment Agencies, T&D Providers and so on w.r.t to activities ranging from renewals, process audits, resolution to open issues, verification & approval of invoices, etc.
  • Periodically review and improve upon existing HR Policies & Processes. To ensure that policies and processes implemented are followed. To prepare memo’s to be sent out to employees w.r.t to Policy updates & expectations.
  • Approve Organizational Charts before they are sent out to Management.
  • Verify & approve payroll reports submitted, ensuring that the payroll processes have been adhered to. To ensure accurate and on-time payment of salaries to all employees and to statutory bodies. To oversee the yearly EA process.
  • Actively lead investigation of grievance/IR cases, to referee disputes fairly and administer disciplinary procedures following the highest standards of the Malaysian Employment Act as well as ensuring high quality standards of documentation.
  • Oversee recruitment, onboarding and offboarding activities, ensuring that timelines are met and to ensure shortlisted candidates are a best fit to the job requirements, before they are shared with the hiring manager. To actively screen & interview for positions at the managerial level and above. Occasionally carry out first level interviews on an ad hoc basis.
  • Source, compare and suggest Insurance Providers on a yearly basis for employees medical and insurance coverage; taking into consideration the best offer of coverage (GTL, GHS and PA).
  • Manage & oversee expatriate employment pass and contractual renewals, onboarding and offboarding activities.
  • Oversee the Performance Appraisal and Yearly Performance Management exercise; to identify STAR employees and their career pathways for their internal growth. To analyse and suggest trainings required to bring non-performing employees up to speed.
  • Manage & oversee the planning of Training & Development activities through the year, with emphasis of closure on Audit Training & Development goals.
  • Manage & oversee the planning of Engagement Activities, ensuring draft of greetings are approved and activities/gifts are within the allocated budget.
  • Reporting on Monthly Consolidated Payroll Report, Quarterly HR Life Cycle Reports, Yearly Bonus & Increment Reporting, Yearly HR Budget Preparation and/or any ad hoc reporting requested by Management related to employees.
  • Foster a good working relationship within the HR department and across all employees within the company. To ensure fairness in management and allocation of workload across all HR Team Members. To act as a mentor in the development of the teams HR capabilities.

Job Requirement

  • Possess a minimum Degree in Human Resource Management or equivalent qualification.
  • Minimum 10 years working experience in handling full spectrum of Human Resources.
  • Must have at least 5 years working experiences in Logistic Industry.
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Office applications
  • Demonstrated experience leading Human Resources Department through strategic and transactional change.
  • Demonstrated organizational leadership and decision-making capability at a senior management level in a collaborative and independent manner.
  • Working knowledge of the Employment Act 1955, Industrial Relations Act, prevailing Human Resources practices and other relevant statutory acts
  • Good interpersonal skills and resourceful in problem solving with the ability to work independently.
