OVERALL OBJECTIVE & DESCRIPTION

The AVP, Senior Network Engineer will need to maintain broad and deep technical skills in multiple technical domains such as LANs (Local Area Networks), WANs (Wide Area Networks) VPNs (Virtual Private Networks) Routers, Firewalls, PKIs (Public Key Infrastructures), CA (Certification Authorities), IPv4/IPv6, Proxy, IPS, WIPS, Advanced Persistent Threat (APT), VoIP, converged IP Contact Center, Voice Self-Service Solutions and Wireless.

Primary focus of this role will be to troubleshoot and implement BAU projects for Data Center, Campus LAN, Contact Centers and branch offices and also to provide as 2nd level support for any escalated issues or incidents related to network.

This role also demands strong organizational and interpersonal skills and the ability to lead complex technical decision making as well as maintaining complex technical documentation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Develop and document reference SOP on Security, Network, Contact Center and Unified Communications solutions and associated standards to be used as a basis for technology selection and implementation.
2. Participate in the selection of hardware and software products and participate in the planning for which features get implemented on what timeline.
3. Participate in annual technology planning to identify where technology investments are needed and where technical architectures need updating.
4. Participate on application or infrastructure implementation projects to insure the design conforms to the technical architecture and standards, and modify or extend the technical architecture when it is necessary to accommodate project needs.
5. Develop architectural strategy, including technology standardization and modernization of enterprise, data centre and disaster recovery network infrastructures.
6. Align architectural strategy with business objectives.
7. Analyse existing Security, Network, Contact Center and Unified Communications structure in order to define, design and achieve simplified, modern, application-focused network architectures.
8. Develop reference architectures and strategic roadmaps for Security, Network, Contact Center and Unified Communications technologies, and solution architectures for various infrastructure initiatives.
9. Leadership role on Security, Network, Contact Center and Unified Communications infrastructure projects to design and architect large-scale networks.
10. To provide High Level solution and proposal to business units related to Security, Network, Contact Center and Unified Communications
11. To provide Low Level documents for the implementation of the proposed Security, Network, Contact Center and Unified Communications
12. Providing specialized technical guidance on complex architecture challenges.
13. Working closely with other Engineers in designing solutions that are reusable, quick to market, and lower the total cost of ownership.
14. Working with different departments / divisions to analyse the platform impact of change and release management on the existing Astro IT infrastructure.
15. To provide advisory service on Security, Network, Contact Center and Unified Communications related issues
16. Ensure proactive project and operations support (level 2) is continuously maintained according to the approved architecture. This support includes all networks and communication related subjects for capacity planning, network architecture change request and preventive maintenance.
17. Continuously ensuring the efficient integration of the latest technology to ensure enhancement of the current systems meet business and operational needs.
18. Lead all IT systems and network activities and to ensure that all change requests are endorsed before transitioning into operations environment

REQUIREMENTS

1. Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science/Engineering/Information Technology (Computer/Telecommunication/Network) or equivalent
2. Minimum 5 years of experience in network design, operations and architecture
3. Possess ITIL and CCNP/CCDP certification will be an advantage
4. Experience assessing large-company campus, branch office, WAN, and data centre business needs, designing and documenting solutions to meet these needs, and driving external vendors where applicable to deliver against product and software roadmaps
5. Strong functional knowledge of TCP/IP required.
6. Strongly versed across a variety of hardware and software manufacturers, and a high degree of comfort and experience in mixed vendor environments
7. Deep understanding of security concepts and putting those concepts into practice in a network environment. Firewall, IDS, DDoS, etc. experience strongly preferred.
8. Expert-level competence in IP routing/switching and security technologies and protocols including TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, MPLS, AAA/Radius, IPsec, GRE, and their best-practices, fault-tolerant use at global scale.
9. Vast knowledge and experience in managing and supporting Data Center network infrastructure using SDN technology (Software Defined Network) such as Cisco ACI.
10. Fluent with state of network technology and cloud infrastructure.
11. Experience in monitoring, capacity planning and automation.
12. Have strong leadership qualities and able to give technical direction.
13. Ability to work with minimal supervision.
14. Ability to work with all levels of personnel from end users to senior management.
15. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence and work collaboratively with other senior leaders in the organization.
