Objectives of the Position

We are looking for a highly dynamic, motivated, and collaborative person to join our team. We are focused on the modernization of legacy systems and development of new capabilities of digital solutions in the Operational EHS domain. Our team also partners with our neighboring teams in the production and maintenance domains to collaborate on an integrated platform solution. There is a growing global need within BASF to leverage digitalization to continue BASF’s journey of EHS excellence and continuously improving our capabilities especially through digitalization.

In this role, you will contribute to the development of a global, in-house full stack platform that integrates multiple domains of BASF’s manufacturing environment and successfully modernizes legacy systems.

Main Tasks

You will be responsible for the infrastructure development of a new, in house global “Operations Platform” associated with the production, maintenance, and operational EHS domains of BASF’s production facilities.

You will work in a global, agile development team to support the continuous integration/continuous delivery of operations platform, both in house and 3rd party solutions as needed.

You will set up additional infrastructure resources and implement deploy pipelines for our applications

You will manage cloud-based solutions, providing ongoing development and maintenance in related areas (e.g. containerization)

You will support high priority and high complexity incidents associated with deployed operations platform

You will consult and support on the integration of non-full stack elements of the operations platform, such as low-code platforms or legacy solutions.

Requirements

Education

• Degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, or related field

Working Experience

• Minimum 5 years of work experience as an Infrastructure Engineer.

Technical & Professional Knowledge (Mandatory)

Strong experience in developing and supporting infrastructure solutions for new platform development.

Very good working knowledge of different Cloud setup (Azure and Aliyun)

Experience with GitOps like ArgoCD

In depth understanding of cloud environments, microservices, containerization, Kubernetes clusters, and related infrastructure tools and concepts

Experience with Azure DevOps pipelines and workflow automation (CI/CD)

Proficiency in IaC tools like Terraform

Well-versed in DevSecOps approach incl. SAST, DAST, image scanning and more

Experience in providing infrastructure operational support as Level 3

Analytical capabilities and trouble-shooting skills

Strong in communication and leadership skills.

A team player and strong collaboration skills

Self-starter and able to work independently.

Strong Digital mindset to accelerate BASF Digitalization transformation journey.

An entrepreneurial spirit and the ability to foster a positive and energized culture

Excellent judgement. Able to weigh several and often conflicting constraints and make rapid, logical decisions in a fast-moving company.

Technical & Professional Knowledge (Additional / Nice to Have)

Knowledge about automation tools like Ansible

Experience working in agile software development teams and passion for programming in a global team environment.

Good knowledge about monitoring, logging and alerting of cloud environments as well as containerized applications, preferably with Datadog experience

Fluency in English
