The Red Hat Market Development team is looking for a Market Development Representative to join us in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. In this role, you will work with the Marketing and Sales teams to contact prospective sales leads, qualify them, and set appointments for Red Hat’s account executives and solutions sales specialists. You’ll need to understand complex business problems and industry trends and use these information to profile and tailor Red Hat’s value propositions when engaging with end users. 

What you will do

• Follow up on inbound marketing-generated leads from the website, tradeshows, and marketing events and programs to qualify leads and set appointments for Red Hat’s sales teams and solutions architects
• Collaborate with the Marketing team to uncover sales leads in new territories through cold calls and emails
• Identify customer business needs and communicate how Red Hat's offerings can address those needs
• Collaborate with the Sales team on account strategy, demand generation activities, delivery plans, and results
• Make extensive use of successful prospecting techniques to evangelize Red Hat's solutions portfolio, generate customer interest, and provide a targeted value proposition
• Maintain accurate and updated activity, lead, and pipeline records
• Provide regular and ad hoc activity and forecast reports to senior management

What you will bring

• Bachelor's degree, preferably in business, management, information systems, marketing, communications, or a related field of study
• Detailed knowledge of the sales cycle and sales techniques within an information technology (IT) organization
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills at multiple levels within an organization
• Ability to understand the needs and issues of the customers and link them to Red Hat’s offerings
• Motivated with the ability to work under time-sensitive deadlines
• Prior experience with ************** (SFDC) is a plus
