· Providesresearch-based specialized instruction to address the instructionalgoals and objectives contained within each student’s EIP andAIP.
· Implement aninstructional, therapeutic, or skill development program forassigned students and show written evidence of preparation asrequired.
· Assessesstudent progress and determines the need for additionalreinforcement or adjustments to instructional techniques.
· Employs various teachingtechniques, methods and principles of learning to enable studentsto meet their EIP and AIP goals.
· Develops and implements annual Early InterventionProgram (EIP) and Advance Intervention Program (AIP) plans forstudents to include: present levels of educational performance,special education needs, instructional goals and objectives, andthe special education and related services required to meet thosegoals.
· Establishand enforce rules for behavior and procedures for maintaining anenvironment conducive to learning for all students.
· Establish and maintain opencommunication by conducting conferences with parents, students,therapist, and teachers.
· Maintain a professional relationship with colleagues,students and parents.
· Ability to maintain discipline and to get along well anddevelop rapport with handicapped children.
· Schedules team meetings and workscooperatively with child study team members and others indeveloping instructional goals and strategies.
· Coordinates the delivery of specialeducation services in each student's EIP and AIP.
· Provide crisis intervention,as needed, for students and those in inclusiveclassrooms.
· Maintain professional competence by participating in staffdevelopment activities, curriculum development meetings, and otherprofessional opportunities.
· Conducts special education evaluations andreevaluations.
