6803 - Automation Technician

Company Overview:

A Malaysia-based engineering company specializing in the design, assembly, integration, and deployment of industrial automation and robotic machinery. The company provides automation solutions involving electrical control systems, PLC integration, machine wiring, and on-site commissioning for manufacturing customers.

Job Description:

• Perform electrical wiring, power distribution, and integration for automated machinery.
• Interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and AutoCAD Electrical drawings.
• Assemble and wire control panels, including PLCs, VFDs, power supplies, and circuit breakers.
• Install and terminate field devices such as sensors, limit switches, servo motors, and industrial connectors.
• Conduct continuity testing, troubleshooting, and electrical debugging before machine commissioning.
• Assist controls engineers during machine power-up, software loading, and system commissioning.
• Troubleshoot industrial electrical and communication network issues (EtherCAT, Profinet, EtherNet/IP).
• Support machine installation, wiring reassembly, and commissioning at customer sites while complying with electrical safety standards.

Job Requirements:

• Technical Diploma or ITE Certificate in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or Electronics.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in industrial electrical wiring, control panel assembly, or automation equipment integration.
• Able to read and interpret industrial electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Basic understanding of PLC I/O configurations.
• Skilled in using electrical tools such as wire strippers, crimping tools, ferrule presses, multimeters, and soldering irons.
• Proficient in spoken and written English.
• Familiar with Microsoft Office applications.
• Willing to travel 50%–75% for machine installation, site wiring, testing, and commissioning.
• Able to perform light physical work, including lifting up to 10 kg when required.
