Job title – Account Manager (Animal Nutrition)

Location – Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

Responsible for developing, implementing, and executing the overall strategic marketing plans and business plans of the company and country. Drive sustainable sales growth of premixes, performance solution additives, combining strong technical knowledge in animal nutrition with consultative selling skills. This role acts as a trusted advisor to customers, translating nutritional science into commercial value while developing long-term partnerships across the feed and livestock value chain.

To be successful in this role, the account manager will collaborate with General Manager, Business Manager, Manager Performance Solutions, Manager Essential Products, Operating Unit and Region.

Your Key Responsibilities:

• To set up, coordinate & execute specific Accounts Management & plans to realize pre- defined/agreed sales and overall customer relationship objectives, both for the short- and long term.


• Define and implement a strategic account plan. Translate into Financial profitability and goals both strategically and tactically and be accountable for top line profit.


• Contribute to develop the sales plan, both strategically and tactically. Monitor and coordinate the execution of the account plan, report on the basis of defined performance indicators and take corrective actions, in order to achieve the results.


• Support and coordinate technical service or after sales service activities towards the account


• Coaching & development of local sales, marketing & technical functions to achieve targeted sales objectives with partners and direct account.


• Strong networking with key customers and key opinion leaders. Field visit to customer and support the management of key accounts in the country


• Expand markets & DSM leadership through campaigns, precision services and value-added services. Leverage on DSM precision services.


• Define and Implement projects with focus on key products, processes and innovation, and decide on clear PMP structure and accountabilities. Identify long term business opportunities with the account(s) and include these in the account strategy and plan.


• Monitor and benchmark competitive products, market requirements and competitive business strategies (competitive profiling) and incorporate benchmarking and competitive internal profiling in account and sales plans. Conduct market analysis & keep internal stakeholders updated on industry/market development


• Lead contract negotiations with the respective account(s) and ensure the conclusion of sales contracts.


• Monitor the complaint process and ensure an appropriate complaint settlement with the account within the agreed timeline.


• Responsible for account receivables and monitor the account’s payment behavior and take action to ensure payment within the agreed payment terms.

You bring

• A Bachelor degree in Veterinary Medicine, Animal Nutrition, Animal Husbandry/Science, or similar discipline


• Minimum 5 years sales experience within the Malaysia Animal Nutrition / Health industry


• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a diverse team environment


• High level of self-motivation and the ability to work in an unsupervised capacity while maintaining focus


• Results oriented with excellent relationship building abilities


• Outstanding presentation, selling and negotiating skills


• Concise and astute communication skills


• Demonstrated superior sales project management skills and evidence of the ability to successfully complete projects
